Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
I saw TMNT today and totally geeked out. I did the whole 3D & D-Box for this one!
I went into the theater very skeptical because I was worried about them butchering my childhood heroes. Yeah...
I give 0 shits about critics. So before going into the theater, i took a moment to reflected on all of the fun times i had growing up watching TNMT and playing with all of the merch. When the movie started I was pretty pumped to see Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael, and Leonardo try to save New York from Shredder.
Johnathon Liebsman took a unique approach with this movie and and he rocked it! Now don�t get me wrong this movie is no Guardians of the Galaxy but its a great ride for the whole family! My kids really enjoy it! I LOVED sharing my passion for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with them!
The beginning of the movie felt SLOW because the first 15 minutes are spent just learning about April. I know Megan Fox is smokin� hot, but I really wish there was less of her. It did break my heart when April cried "GET UP!!" to the turtles as they were slowly being brought to the brink of death.
I got used to the turtles new look pretty quickly and Ive actually grown to LIKE the designs! The Turtles were perfect! Their Personalities & their brotherly bond was exactly the way Ive always known them to be. Raphaels character made me happy because not only was he his rebel-badass-self, but he was sensitive -showing it at the perfect time. Leo and Raphs tension was balanced. Mikeys character was the most on point! And i like the modern Donatello, he was always my favorite.
The Foot Clan was different in a bad way. They no longer wear masks all of the time and they use guns.
The origin of the turtles and Master Splinter changed too, but not necessarily in a bad way.
There could have been more pizza. Much more. When they were cutting a pizza and a slice landed on splinters head --the little kid inside me squealed happily.
I think it would have been cooler if they had played a snippet of the original theme song and maybe cameod Casey Jones... but now Im just getting greedy.
The martial arts moves are pretty cool in 3D and the fight with Shredder was EPIC!! It had tons of action & cool fight sequences. I loved getting to relive my childhood!! Oh the feels!
Paramount Pictures has already announced that a sequel to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will officially be released on June 3rd, 2016. The film will once again be produced by Michael Bay with the screenplay written by Josh Appelbaum & Andr� Nemec. It is unknown if Jonathan Liebesman will return to direct the film, but I expect an announcement will be made soon. A lot of people expected this film to flop, which to me is completely ridiculous. I cant wait for the next one!!

Oh.. and dont bother waiting around until after the credits like I did. Unlike Marvel, there are no little secret extra scenes waiting for you at the end.
